Yes, although we are always working to find ways to reduce and eventually eliminate ticketing fees. Please note that the fees described below apply only to paid tickets and ticket auctions. There is a separate fee structure for single-item auctions, which you can read about here.
Though the service fee applied to a ticket may vary from event to event as well as by region, by default in the US there is a per-ticket fee of $1.49 plus 3% the final ticket price. The ticket fee does not apply to the tax that may be added to or included in the ticket price. For tickets priced below $3, the ticket fee is 53% the final ticket price.
Organizers are given the option of absorbing the ticket service fee into the final ticket price or passing the fee on to the ticket purchaser.
Why do we charge a ticket service fee? As the name implies, we do so mainly to cover the costs of maintaining and providing our service to event organizers and their guests. This allows us to maximize the amount of revenue that goes towards hosting a great event and ensures that CrowdMob is reinvesting in new features that provide value for both event hosts and ticket holders.
